[REVIEW] Pony Effect Defense Longwear Cushion Foundation
Finally! The long awaited review on one of the most trending k-beauty products in the market is here! Again, I was giving this a good, long moment of thought whether I should buy this cushion or not but I gave up my money right away when I watched the promotion videos on YT. I did contemplate few times since there were not so many review on yet-- I still bought this anyway. Look at how gorgeous, sleek, classy the appearance is. Pony once again robbed my money this time for good. So, let's not wait anymore and go for the review!
Do take that note that I have COMBINATION SKIN type, oily T zone and dry U zone.
Product + Packaging:
Pony Effect Defense Longwear Cushion Foundation (15gx2)
That's right, peaches. This product comes with an extra refill and a puff! As expected from Pony Effect and the amount of foundation stuffed inside is a whole lot of different from any other cushions out there. It's a lot. You don't have to press your puff so hard to get the product out! Just lightly tap on the cushion, alright? The packaging, 5/5. Just look at how gorgeous it is, I'm living. Let's move on to what it claims to be and do! But mainly, it's an anti-pollution cushion foundation.
1. Urban Defense effect from the pollution.
2. Moisture Film formula for moisturizing effect.
3. Lotus Extract for relieving skin.
4. 99.9% antibacterial dough puff (the usual).
Sun Protection:
SPF50 PA+++
Shade:
Buff (23)
With this new cushion version, the price of each shade is the same. Thankfully. So, I got mine in one of the new shades, which is Buff! This yellow tone is so my thing. Pony, once again, I'm living because of you. It matches my skin tone just fine. So, I'll suggest this shade to most of Asian people out there. If you want something a little darker, then go for the Sand shade. I believe it's for those with 25 range skin tone. Here's how it looks like.
Longevity:
On my very first try, it was a massive fail. I'm being brutally honest. It got into my fine lines after five minutes I had it on. Around 4 hours later, it started to disappear on my nose and around my lips. So, I gave it a second try! Thank God, it lasted well. I prepared my skin with my usual skincare routine, plus a pore primer on my T-zone and it lasted for like 8 hours. It did get oily but not the disgusting type of oil-tank looking oily. It's just like how you put it on for it's glow and dewy finish. So, do exfoliate your skin, prepare your skin, put on a primer if you have oily or combination skin and press a little setting powder too on your T-zone. I think this would do better on those with dry to normal skin.
Texture:
I can't really describe the texture to be honest. It's like light-medium? It doesn't feel heavy but it doesn't feel very light neither. That's how I conclude it.
Coverage:
Medium to High coverage. This is the part where I'm most satisfied of. One layer is enough to cover all of those old scars and small blemishes. Even your severe dark circles will look 10x lighter. You can definitely go for a second layer, but please stop right there. It'll look and feel heavy if you do. As always, grab your concealer if you need a third layer, don't go for it.
Finish:
Dewy to Satin? It's not as dewy as the Everlasting version but it's not matte neither, but it's definitely 80% on the dewy side. If you're not into this type of foundation, go for the Coverstay version, alright. The dewiness lasts for quite some time-- actually it lasts for the whole time I have this on.
Skin type Recommendation:
Normal to dry. Combination and oily, ready your powder. Not as in using your brush and tap the powder but a beauty blender or a sponge, please. Especially the area around your lips. I know some of us with oily or combination skin love this dewy finish foundation type out there. I'm one of you. I feel ya. You won't need much of powder like how you do with Everlasting cushion, so it won't feel heavy.
And that's the end of this luxurious cushion, ladies and gents! I know it's pricey for some of us but if you want to go for quantity and maybe, quality, this is recommended. You won't be out of product soon. There's a bunch of foundation stuck in the cushion seriously. And so, here's the results and thank you for reading! Have a nice day, peaches!
